An agent that remembers a meeting does not need to preserve the meeting.
Raw transcripts optimize for recall, but they also preserve every aside, awkward phrase, and piece of context that was never meant to become institutional memory. A more durable record is smaller and deliberate: decisions, open questions, points of disagreement, and sparks worth returning to—reviewed before they become memory.
This changes the agent’s role from surveillance apparatus to cultural steward. Good memory is not everything that happened. It is the subset a group has chosen to carry forward.
